Join us as the Everett Museum of History honors Knute "Mossback" Berger, Seattle-born writer, editor, and historian, who will share the gripping story of the Wellington Train Disaster of 1910, when two Great Northern Railway trains were swept away by a catastrophic avalanche near Stevens Pass. His presentation combines deep historical insight with the engaging style that has made him one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beloved chroniclers.
This is a fundraising event. Your attendance and generosity help the Everett Museum of History connect our community with its heritage through inclusive educational exhibits, programs, and events. Please consider a meaningful gift to support our mission—together, we can build a brighter, more compassionate world for all.

Van Valey House
Take a sneak peek!
This beautiful 1914 home features quarter-sawn oak wainscoting, coffered ceilings, hand-painted wallpaper and many exquisite finishings such as imported beveled and stained-glass windows. Some of the furniture dates to the Van Valey family and other items like light fixtures have been collected by the Morrow family in order to replace period items that had been modernized. In addition to telling the history of the house itself and the Van Valey and Morrow families who called it home, the museum highlights the life of the late Senator Henry M. Jackson, a local man who left a legacy of statesmanship. The Jackson Room was curated by his daughter, with help from the Jackson Foundation.
Opened as a house museum in 2022, the Van Valey will offer additional exhibits on a regular basis, so
there will always be something new to see. We are delighted to have this venue to share some
of the items from our extensive collection while renovation work continues on the main museum.
